Light Relief Part 1

PhD Exhibition at DAB LAB Gallery, Sydney, 2007

Some of the photographs here date back to early experiments with landscape photography I started back in 1995. I was trying to make photographs that were more evocative than descriptive, a theme I picked up again in my PhD, of which this exhibition was a part.

 

By the time I came to exhibit this work I had a few thousand images to choose from. I narrowed this down to several hundred and then asked my colleagues at UTS to each select 26 images. In all about 30 colleagues participated. Each set of images were displayed as a screen saver. The images here are those that my colleagues most frequently selected.
